I have a couple of hobbies that I dedicate a lot of my free time to. First and foremost, I have been involved in Mixed Martial Arts (UFC style competition) and Submission Grappling for 10 years. That has been the sport that I dedicated the most time and energy into pursuing. I do not regret one moment that I have spent on the mat or in the ring, and though I no longer compete I do continue to try to help other fighters by coaching and promoting. To see some of my videos and more information regarding this aspect of my life, please visit www.TrainFightWin.com. Another area of my life that I am heavily involved in is a mixture between entrepreneurship and web-design. I have designed, built, and maintained more than ten websites, and I thoroughly enjoy the both the coding and the layout that programming a site requires. The largest and most extensive website that I have built is the one mentioned above, and is both a tribute to Mixed Martial Arts as well as a nice supplemental income for me. During my junior year of college, I became increasingly interested in learning the Spanish language. I had picked up a little bit of Spanish over the years, but I really wanted to secure a solid understanding of it. I found a gentleman named Greg Smith who teaches languages, and I approached him about Spanish. We were able to work out a deal where he taught me Spanish, and in return I built his website for him. In the end, the experience that I gained from that was phenomenal because I not only learned another language, but I also began looking into the different ways to make money online. It was the layout of his website selling a digital product that lead me to build a site selling downloadable MMA instructional videos. My sister and my mother are both certified Dale Carnegie instructors, so public speaking has been a long family tradition. I have completed three of the four main courses that the Dale Carnegie institute offers including the primary Dale course, the Sales Advantage Course, and the High Impact Presentations course. As a volunteer, much of my time has gone to two different fraternal organizations. I am a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and have worked extensively in several capacities in that organization. I have also been very involved in the Masonic Lodge as well as the York Rite bodies therein. Once I involve myself in a hobby, I tend to fully indulge myself in it. I always strive to be the best at whatever I am doing, and my work ethic is largely fueled by my competitive nature. |
